Injection molding machines are used in various industries. In order to support the customers to approach smart production, FCS developed and launched the Industry 4.0 solution for injection molding since 2017, which is “iMF 4.0 Intelligent ManuFactory System”. iMF 4.0 can be mounted on the injection molding machines and can independently adjust and control quality parameters based on the surrounding information. It uses intelligent sensing modules to improve product yield and reduce production waste. Through engineering monitoring and feedback suggestions, it can achieve advanced warning and avoid accidental shutdown losses, thus seizing the "intelligent" manufacturing opportunities for customers.

AIC IoT Studio is an IoT development tool based on Node-RED. IoT Cloud AIoT development can be codeless drag-and-drop nodes to set up the factory equipment's machine network process management with a visual development environment and develop a smart factory using industrial big data. All the nodes that need to be used on the Gateway, such as Modbus node, computing node, transmitting node, receiving node and HTTP node, have been completely deployed to modularize the connected devices without re-writing the code and achieve the nearly codeless development of software services for the Internet of Things. The device is deployed in edge computing and supports multiple computing functions. A variety of function node scripts are obtained from the edge server and sealed packages are generated and sent directly to the target gateway to execute the process of each function node in sequence.

Based on machine to machine (M2M) communication processing, Opc Ua is used to define data transmission between two or even multiple devices, which can be wired transmission or wireless transmission. It belongs to the function of Internet of Things transmission, not limited to smart devices and data exchange. It also includes digital signal transmission of sensors and actuators, which is transmitted from on-premises to the cloud after edge computing for complex factory data transmission and analysis operations. Under the trend of Industry 4.0, the development from automation to intelligence achieves the so-called “Smart Factory”, which has the ability to optimize the production process of the factory by itself and expand without human intervention. Moreover, it is able to track in real-time, the entire production process, life cycle, utilization rate, cumulative production value and innovation, all of which can deploy IoT for learning through Opc Ua.
